Find your inner Londoner over a cup of coffee

What is single origin coffee?

Single Origin Coffee – what a bean is that?!

These days it feels like coffee is a separate kind of modern art, to understand which you really need a talent or academic knowledge. Although we at L’Don love coffee over any other drink, still we are not masters of “Coffeeology”, which can be called the professional coffee education in the future. Just as any study starts with the basics, fundamental rules, every coffee begins from the location where the coffee beans were grown. Bean origin matters because factors such as the soil type, climate, production and processing methods shape the final flavour – from the aroma to the aftertaste. To cut the long story short, according to Wikipedia, Single-origin coffee is coffee from a single known geographic origin. Basically Single Origin beans are all sourced from the same country. For example, Ldon has 3 coffee items with Single Origin Mark:

1-Floral Single Origin – coffee from Democratic Republic of Congo

2-Fruity Single Origin – coffee from Colombia

3-Chocolate Single Origin – coffee from Brazil

So obviously you get that Blends unlike to Single Origins, are a mixture of coffee beans sourced from different locations and processed together. As simple as that.

Congrats! Now you are 1 step closer to becoming a coffee expert.
